Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grants

The Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grants award money to artists working in the art field. They pay $10,000 USD to $20,000 USD and you can receive a maximum of three grants a year. They offer different guidelines to receive the grant including:

  • Must be a full-time professional working as an artist
  • Self-supporting artist
  • Not earning more than $75,000 USD in U.S. income
  • A resident of the United States
  • Starting or extending a career as an artist
  • Live and work in the U.S. in a permanent or summer residence

The NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship is a mid-career grant for artists who are at least 30 years old and who have completed five years of full-time residency in NYFA programs. It is designed to help an artist who is making work about his or her specific time, place, or identity, and for whom NYFA fellowships have already been a form of residency. Selected artists can receive a small stipend during the fellowship period, along with the opportunity to attend symposiums and workshops.

This one is rather unusual. Blade of Grass, a new program designed for socially engaged artists by the David C. Copley Foundation, pays $20,000 to the selected artist and $15,000 to support their exhibitions at the Copley. The stipend is based on the number of works created and exhibited by the artist, so a $15,000 award for a single work is the base.

The National Foundation for Independent Artists is one of the oldest and most popular art grants programs in the US. The Foundation gives grants to artists every year based on the votes of the general public. The NIFA’s most popular grant categories include experimental art, modern and contemporary art, contemporary design, painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and experimental, applied and alternative art.

Founded by Pulitzer Prize winning cartoonist Lyle Stuart in 1982, the Foundation has awarded almost 15 million dollars to independent artists. Currently the Foundation grants thousands of grants, either alone or in conjunction with other charitable organizations.

This grant for arts funding started in 1969 and is administered by the Kansas City Public Library.

The grant is available to artists at all stages of their careers. Applications will be due in September 2024 and the grant will be awarded in April 2024. The support grant can cover up to $6,000 for a single project for one artist or $25,000 for a team of artists.
