Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grants
The Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grants award money to artists working in the art field. They pay $10,000 USD to $20,000 USD and you can receive a maximum of three grants a year. They offer different guidelines to receive the grant including:
- Must be a full-time professional working as an artist
- Self-supporting artist
- Not earning more than $75,000 USD in U.S. income
- A resident of the United States
- Starting or extending a career as an artist
- Live and work in the U.S. in a permanent or summer residence
The Institute of Arts and Letters founded this award and it aims to benefit the arts and the “leaders and practitioners of the contemporary visual and performing arts.
2021 Susan Beech Mid-Career Grant
This grant will support an artist working in any medium working in one of three areas of focus: education, music or documentary film.
Grants for Art Education
The Art Education Grant is dedicated to supporting artists who want to teach art in secondary or post secondary schools.

NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship
$50,000+ per year
The NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship is a mid-career grant for artists who are at least 30 years old and who have completed five years of full-time residency in NYFA programs. It is designed to help an artist who is making work about his or her specific time, place, or identity, and for whom NYFA fellowships have already been a form of residency. Selected artists can receive a small stipend during the fellowship period, along with the opportunity to attend symposiums and workshops.
The Stegner Fellowship
$55,000+ per year
The Stegner Fellowship is one of the most prestigious arts grants in the nation, provided that the applicant is a full-time faculty member at a U.S. college or university.
Virginia A. Groot Foundation Grant
The Virginia A. Groot Foundation will award $10,000 to one artist per year for a period of three years for development of artwork to be exhibited in a public art site.
Applicants must have a demonstrated interest in curating or curating exhibitions and must be a Virginia resident and have a pre-existing relationship with a public art site in the Hampton Roads area.
Eligible Projects Include:

The Boynes Emerging Artist Award
The opportunity for artists to receive financial support to develop new work is rare. Only 20% of artists complete their 10-year artist’s lifecycle without receiving support. The Boynes Award helps artists build relationships and creative networks, learn valuable industry information, and participate in nationwide and international jurying. Additionally, the Boynes Award offers professional development and mentoring in the program through mentoring from the reception committee and grant reviewers. The competition is open to all artists.
LACMA Art and Technology Lab Request for Proposals
LACMA’s Art and Technology Lab is in the process of building a small workshop. They are offering the first round of projects up to $20,000.
The Sustainable Arts Foundation Award Program
The Sustainable Arts Foundation awards grants to artists for experimental projects, installations and programs that achieve environmental or social outcomes.
Grants are presented in three annual awards:
• Professional Development grants to artists to develop technical skills and performance excellence.
• Art Projects grants to artists to create new works for public exhibition.
• Art In Your Neighborhood Grants to artists, community groups, schools and local organizations to fund projects that will have a positive environmental or social impact in their community.
A Blade of Grass Fellowship for Socially Engaged Art
This one is rather unusual. Blade of Grass, a new program designed for socially engaged artists by the David C. Copley Foundation, pays $20,000 to the selected artist and $15,000 to support their exhibitions at the Copley. The stipend is based on the number of works created and exhibited by the artist, so a $15,000 award for a single work is the base.

Awesome Foundation Grants
The National Foundation for Independent Artists is one of the oldest and most popular art grants programs in the US. The Foundation gives grants to artists every year based on the votes of the general public. The NIFA’s most popular grant categories include experimental art, modern and contemporary art, contemporary design, painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and experimental, applied and alternative art.
Founded by Pulitzer Prize winning cartoonist Lyle Stuart in 1982, the Foundation has awarded almost 15 million dollars to independent artists. Currently the Foundation grants thousands of grants, either alone or in conjunction with other charitable organizations.
Burning Man Global Art Grants
The Burning Man Foundation focuses on developing Burning Man culture worldwide. It is one of the largest art funding organizations. Every year they release a call for projects that fit within Burning Man’s ideology. Here is an overview of the Burning Man Global Art Grants for 2024.
CEC ArtsLink Independent Projects Awards
The CEC ArtsLink Independent Projects Awards grants support artists who are “thinking and behaving outside the mainstream.” There are four major categories: Theater, Arts Organizations, Vocal and Film. The winner receives a $5,000 award, but it is fully subsidized by the National Endowment for the Arts.
Creative Capital Grants
This funding program offers grants and fellowships to artists, writers, filmmakers, musicians, and creative professionals at all stages of their careers. The funds go toward establishing and expanding creative projects, strengthening existing organizations, and creating new forms of artistic expression. This year’s grants will be awarded beginning in May 2024.
The Gottlieb Foundation Individual Support Grant
This grant for arts funding started in 1969 and is administered by the Kansas City Public Library.
The grant is available to artists at all stages of their careers. Applications will be due in September 2024 and the grant will be awarded in April 2024. The support grant can cover up to $6,000 for a single project for one artist or $25,000 for a team of artists.
